Support for Young People
Because growing up isn’t as simple as everyone makes it sound.
Maybe school feels like a constant battle—trying to keep up, trying to fit in, or just trying to get through the day. Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in your head, or unsure of who you’re supposed to be. Maybe you’re navigating big changes—moving into high school, finishing Year 12, thinking about uni or work—and it all feels a bit much.
You don’t have to go through it alone.
This part of life is full of transitions, expectations, and unknowns. It’s also full of pressure—from school, friends, family, social media, and your own mind. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you're the only one not coping. But these feelings don’t mean you’re broken. They mean you’re human.
I work with young people aged 12 to mid-20s to create a space where it’s okay to slow down, talk things through, and be exactly where you are. No pressure to have it all figured out. No judgement. Just room to be real.
Common reasons young people come to counselling:
Feeling anxious or down, and not sure why
Identity questions—who am I, and where do I fit?
Struggling with friendships, family, or relationships
Addictive habits, tricky behaviours, or impulsive decisions
Trouble coping with school or planning for the future
Feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, or numb
What our sessions are like
You set the pace. You decide what we talk about. I’m not here to lecture, diagnose, or give you a list of things to fix. I’m here to get curious with you about what’s going on—and help you make sense of it. Sometimes that means talking. Sometimes it means getting creative or practical. All of it is welcome.
We might explore how you respond to stress, how to name and understand emotions, or how to make space for different parts of you that might be in conflict. We can look at what’s working, what’s not, and what might help. I’ll guide you, but you’ll always be in the driver’s seat.
For parents and caregivers
If you’re reading this on behalf of your child or teen, welcome. Supporting a young person through a hard time is no small task. You might be feeling concerned, unsure of what’s really going on, or frustrated that nothing seems to help. That’s okay. I work in partnership with families when needed, and always in a way that centres the young person’s voice and safety. You’re part of the picture, too—and you’re not alone.
Take the next step
If you’re curious about counselling—or just want to ask a few questions—you’re welcome to get in touch. There’s no pressure to commit to anything. Just a conversation to see if this might be the right fit.
